Drop-in Hours at the Veterans Resource Center

The VRC is currently hosting drop-in career counseling hours once per month. Please view the VRC events calendar for updates. There are plenty of drop-in hours at the career center - read below and take advantages of the resources available!

Write a Resume & Cover Letter

The USC Career Center believes that writing a quality resume and cover letter for internship and full-time job opportunities begin with a targeted, one-page summary of your skills and experiences that convinces the employer you would be successful in that position. You can learn how to write a resume, create a cover letter, and know when to use a curriculum vitae (CV) here.

Find and Accept a Job or Internship

Interview & Follow Up

There are many different types of interviews ranging from traditional face-to-face interviews to panel/committee interviews. We provide multiple resources to prepare for interviewing including a mock interview module and case interview interactive resource. You can learn more about both of those here.

Making a Career Appointment

Drop-in Advising
Have your resume/cover letter reviewed or receive an answer for quick questions during drop-in session hours, 11:30 am to 3:20 pm., Monday to Friday. Drop-in sessions are 10-15 minutes long and are given on a first-come, first served basis.

An active connectSC account is required to check in for drop-ins so log into connectSC prior to visiting our office. Please bring a printed copy of your resume or cover letter for review and be expected to wait a while during peak times.

Scheduled Appointments

Request a 30-minute appointment with a career counselor or internship advisor through connectSC. Click on the “Request a Counseling Appointment” link in the right-hand column. You can discuss any career-related topics such as:

  • Career Counseling
  • Internship Advising
  • Mock Interviews (Please email your counselor your resume and a copy of a job description at least two business days in advance after your appointment request is confirmed.)
  • Schedule on connectSC

Our policy is one appointment (drop-in or 30-minute) per day, so please plan accordingly.

Find a Mentor

The Career Network is an exclusive online mentoring program where alumni can share their career and industry-related experiences and information. USC students can connect with these alumni for informational interviews, speed networking, or longer, semester-based mentorships. In order to find out more, you can see further information here.

The USC Alumni Veterans Network (USCAVN) strengthens the community of Trojan veterans through social, educational and service-oriented engagement opportunities. USC alumni who are veterans can learn more about this network here.

Veterans and Military Families Recruiting Night

The Veterans and Military Families Recruiting Night is a campus-wide partnership between numerous offices and organizations on campus. Past employers in attendance include Amazon, PayPal, IBM, Cedars-Sinai Health System, The Boeing Company, FBI, and many more. You can find more information on this event here.
